Filter-ON presents Electrostatic precipitator works on principle of Electrostatic Precipitation. The fine, submicron particles in air are ionized with the help of high voltage and these charged particles are collected on opposite polarity Electrode plates. The particles which get deposited on the Electrode plates are held there with Electrostatic force of attraction. That is how the fine submicron size solid/liquid particles are separated from the air stream to exhaust clean & filtered air out of the system.
Some of the unique advantages of Electrostatic precipitator are -
1. Zero Replacement Cost – Cleanable & Reusable filters.
There is no filter media as such which ‘filters’ the particles like Media type filters. Particles get deposited on the aluminum plates, which can be cleaned, washed and reused for years together without any need to replace it.
2. Ability to trap very fine Smoke / Fumes & Mist Particles with high efficiency.
The Electrostatic Precipitation process can ionize & filter out very fine particles even up to 0.1 micron size. That is why this technology is best suitable for applications which involve large numbers of very small particles like Industrial Fumes, Smoke, Fine Machining Mist, Kitchen Fumes etc.
3. Very Low Pressure drop – which saves Fan power & thus running cost.
Since there is no resistance as such to air flow, Electrostatic Air Filters have the lowest pressure drop among all the filters. Because of this, the Fan/Blower poser is not wasted in overcoming the pressure drop (like media filters). So, one can use a much smaller capacity blower/Fan when ESP is used. Generally, as compared with Media type filters, Electrostatic Filter Systems has got @30-40% less power consumption, which is a huge saving in the long run.
